I interviewed Ms. Tan Hoon Cheng few days ago. I am humbled by her strength and most of all, her forgiving nature. She bears no animosity towards Ahmad Ismail while I am still terribly annoyed to see that face. For that, I truly salute Hoon Cheng.

On and off, I do meet Hoon Cheng when we cover press conferences. She is one of the several senior reporters who displays charisma, self-assurance, wisdom and grace.

This video was picked up by Malaysia-Today and so far, there has been over 8K views. It is yet to be published on Malaysiakini.tv. I hope people who had watched the video will support the call to our government to abolish ISA and find a more humane law to deal with those who really need a tougher sentence. Otherwise, many individuals like Hoon Cheng can and will be detained without trial.

My old posts about Hoon Cheng/ISA related :

I am surprised my blog still has the Midas touch where search results are concerned. Few days ago, I wrote about Gerakan Youth. Now, that post is on the 3rd position, with Gerakan main site as 1st and 2nd.

    gerakanyouth

I find it sooooo funny because that post on Gerakan Youth is going to float up like some dead, rotting fishes each time people wants to search for Gerakan Youth website. It stinks, it won’t go away and it will be floating there always.

*laughing hard and thumping table in victory*

Next, I want you guys to see something funny in the above video. I am not talking about Lim Si Pin who is Lim Kheng Yaik the goldfish lips ahpek son. Though Jeff Ooi said he Buat Malu Manusia, I got no comment. Oh no…I dare not say anything about that lauyeah lau fu tzi spectacles and his ‘I am so sked of everything, I must do everything by law’ (pthooi, no need to become politician lah, like that so sked). But watch the interview. Towards the middle, you will notice a sweet leng lui. Her name is Emily Chow from Malaysiakini. She is the angel who writes articles based on our citizen journalist videos.

But that’s not my main point. Notice when Lim Si Pin started coughing and every reporters around him cabut including Emily. LOL, itu lah, if you have nothing intersting to say, the sky god says shaddap already, give you cough so the reporters all cabut lari, sked of H1N1. And notice the videographer at the end of the video is already adorning a gas mask, ready for tomorrow ISA march.

Those of you who are in KL who are going to the anti-ISA march, please equip yourself with wet towel, salt and plenty of drinking water. Be alert of your surroundings and stay away from burly guys because they are sometimes SB so don’t get too near them cos when they are ready to pounce, at least you are not within arm’s reach.

This is not some CJ reporting, ok? This one is some CB reporting.

    DSC_0003

Actually, I was sleeping when this happened. But hubby bought me curry mee from Lam Wah Ee hospital so I woke up and eat and listen.

Around 6.30 am this morning, someone rang the door bell. And I was sleeping. The person brought a pile of things belonging to my hubby. He or is it she (bah, I never ask male or female lah) said he or she is from the next apartment. As I was too busy enjoying my curry mee with huge prawns, I didn’t quite get it when my eldest son and hubby explained to me when I woke up.

The person actually traced the things like cheque book, diary, CD and etc belonging to hubby through a roster from my church, Holy Spirit. He/she is a Methodist. Go figure…why suddenly the religion masuk ini cerita gua pun tak tau. It’s a Christian thing lah, we seems to connect and God bless the kind samaritan.

Anyway, this person picked up those things strewn on an empty ground near their apartment, found a bulletin or is it a duty roster or something with my church’s logo and came to our guard house. Hmmmm…how did the guard know that Holy Spirit is our apartment unit? Bah…see? I am a bad detective and even worse journalist. I can’t seem to piece things together.

    DSC_0006

Well, apparently, some stupid thief broke BOTH our car windows, took the laptop bag which contains no laptop. Not satisfied, broke the front passenger window and dig out the glove compartment stuffs. Ok, I am not sure sohai thief broke the back or the front window first. Anyway, what difference does it make, right? Front first or back first or both at the same time.

    DSC_0019

Of course, partly my hubby’s fault lah. He go and put a laptop bag for all to see and tempted the thief. Hubby thought thieves are not so stupid to think that people are so stupid to leave laptops around for all to see.

Anyway, the thief only take one Maybank cheque book but left another bank cheque book which was thrown and found. And the Maybank has no money inside. Hubby has cancelled the cheque book, made a police report and sent the car for insurance claim. With both windows and tinting, it will costs at least RM500. Since my eldest son is on semester break, the car can stay in the workshop for a while.

    Sekian, berita pagi ini.

Moral of the story : Want to be thief, go find nicer car to steal from lah. At least steal the CD player or nice sports rim. Go steal from a family man’s family car which has nothing inside. Waste time, earn bad karma for nothing.

By now, you probably heard that I went to KL last weekend to attend some talk and went to some spa to do so.

    IMG_0259

Well, it is work and it is paying me. But this post is not about the work I am supposed to do or the spa where I went. This is about how I got molested by a woman. How for the first time in my entire life, I have to strip naked in front of another woman. How I was so awkward and clumsy with a sarong and I probably would have fallen off the massage table, and strangled to death by a sarong. Imagine the headlines…”Naked blogger strangled to death by sarong, found under massage table”

    IMG_0267

The only massage I ever had was one of those Thai massages by the beach at Patong, Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui. One doesn’t need to strip naked, you know? And it is done in broad daylight, with either a boyfriend or husband around. But this one different lah.

The spa is really cosy and plush. I am lucky to be in the room with someone who also have never gone for such massage. So, both of us, faced each of our wall and get down to wearing the sarong.

I went in to the room first and the nice, pretty, sexy Indonesian masseur told me to change to sarong. She went out, leaving me alone in the dark room with nice incense smell. I chased after her and whispered, “Tukar semua? Seluar juga?” She replied me, “ya…..panty jugak” OMG, then only I knew what I was in for…Die lah, mana mau lari…

    IMG_0265

I was then asked to lie face down on the massage table. They have a hole for the face to snuggle in lah. And jeng, jeng, jeng…the masseur came to me. She asked me, “Pertama kali?” I told her, “Ya…saya tak suka orang pegang saya….” (I mean to say I don’t like people touching me) And I laughed my stupid laugh, hoping to cabut lari.

But I was at her mercy. And she is gooooood…..Though so petite, her touch was really full of power and strength. Soon, the 30 minutes was over…and I wish it was longer.

Then, I got downstair and a guy (who is from the company that ‘hires’ me) asked, “So, you had one of those sensual massage?” I broke into laughter, “Nolah! Relaxing massage. Aiyerr…sensual? Give me a male masseur lah, then only can have sensual one.” Damn, I think I am turning lesbian.

I got a neighbour. He lives on the ground floor. His car is parked just outside his apartment unit. He doesn’t work, or at least, I see him around the house, in his apek shorts and big belly hanging around all day. His wife works, wearing plus-size expensive clothes cos I see the brands hanging on their laundry.

And they have three grown kids. And they have a maid. Cos they are richer than me. Or maybe less efficient than me.

And this poor Indonesian maid got to wash their blary Honda Civic EVERY SINGLE MORNING! And without fail! Every single morning. WTF.

Now, what he wants to do with his maid is non of my blardy business of course.

But the amount of water wasted every morning to wash a car that does not even go out much?

Or maybe he just enjoys his maid slugging over the car so that he can sees her butt crack?

I don’t know lah, I just want to rant about people who abuses their maids to wash cars even when the cars are not dirty.

Bah…so much for love thy neighbour as you love yourself.

I have written or rather crapped two lame posts. But I decided that’s not so me, so I deleted them.

I am waiting for someone to piss me so that I can go obnoxious mode and blog. But too bad, no one piss me yet.

Then, I asked myself, which category of blogger am I? You see, on Saturday, we went to this bloggers’ briefing on Pruhealth insurance and they mentioned that the bloggers were chosen from various categories like parenting, food, lifestyle, fashion, photography and politics.

So, I secretly hope I fall under the politics category and not the mommies’ bloggers. Hey, which category of blogger am I now?

I am awfully confused myself. Sometimes, I meet women and they told me they like my women’s musing. Sometimes, politicians told me they read my blog. Sometimes, teens said they love my blog. Yet, I hardly hear people say anything about me, as a parenting blogger. Arrggh..it is awfully confusing. Identity crisis.

Anyway, I have an awfully lot of things to do but I am not feeling so perky and bubbly. I have a stack of photos that I need to resize and post for some college. I have to prepare my work schedule for a four-part documentary. I have some interviews to do and I must get the structure drafted out.

Talking about four-part documentary, let me ask my faithful readers. You see, I am one of the CJ selected by Malaysiakini and ICFJ under their fellowship. I am paid through US grants. (yayaya, I do get paid a little bit for my video journalism but I would have done what I am doing even if there is none, unless of course, KTK returns as the CM)

I had initially planned to make a four-part documentary on heritage. Like the heritage sites in Penang, how these places are restored (filming those artists at work), how people’s lives are affected by development and how to make them continue living as the living heritage, what is the government doing and what are the methods of educating the public on the importance of heritage yadda yadda yadda. But now, I suddenly do not feel like going to all the 26-33 heritage sites to film those places because I will get so dark. (ya, lame excuse)

So, I want to change topic. Therefore, let me ask my dear faithful readers….

What do you wish to see in a four-parts documentary? That means it is a fourty minute documentary on the same subject, touching on these issues : human rights, religious tolerance and environment. Faster tell! That includes all of you silent readers who hardly comment. Please give me some ideas. I must submit my work schedule like right now.

I just fed my battalion. The #2 son wants to learn how to make spaghetti carbonara after he played too much Restaurant City. Since I have cream, bacon and spaghetti, it took us only a few minutes.

Meanwhile, the #3 son doesn’t fancy creamy stuffs and enjoyed the fried wantan. The #1 and #5 already had lunch earlier because I bought a box of KFC after my trip to Komtar. I had a craving for cheezy potato wedges with extra cheese sauce. That was actually my breakfast/lunch because I didn’t have time to drink coffee or ate before I went to the press con. I knew CM is going to talk about Kampung Buah Pala and glad I got my lazy, sleepy self there because he said ‘today, all of you get one PC plus three free’. He said the RCI is like a toothless tiger. He said Samy Vellu’s offer to pay for the Kampung Buah Pala land for the villagers is a big bluff from MIC and he also talked about the abandoned old folks. And he said ‘thank you, Lilian’. I am not sure why he thanked me because I wasn’t paying attention when he was talking earlier. I think it is to thank me for my video on the old folks drop in centre.

Talking about this video, I wrote to two (maybe three excos plus the CM). I am very sure the DAP gov. can work with the MCA ex-assemblyman’s wife to make the old folks drop-in centre and recycling centre a better place. I don’t care what’s their political ideal but all I see is a hardworking woman who provides a place for old folks from the lower income group to go during the day. Those whose children’s income are below RM1,500 can send their aged parents during the day. Only RM150 per month with meals provided.

To me, it is a noble thing. But you know what one exco replied to me? He said their accounts are not transparent (so that’s why the state does not help). I shot back an email, “It is your job to monitor and find a way to work around it.” Come on, I know many charitable homes have messy accounts. Some maybe have some mismanagement of funds. But at the root of it, these are people who are doing something for the community which would otherwise be neglected. Of course, that exco is always in my ’sipeh beh tahan’ list. But another exco replied that he will invite the datin to be part of their environment committee.

See? It doesn’t take much to make changes. Just a bold, daring and courageous attitude to tell off the politicians if they pissed me. With a state government who preaches helping the poor, old, homeless, neglected etc etc, it is the best opportunity for me as a CJ to be their voice. Like the other day, while waiting for the lift, I told CM about this datin and how she needs someone to help the old folks to fill up some Warga Emas welfare forms. CM immediately phoned his assistant and gave me his phone and asked me to talk to him. Immediate action.

After all these crazy CJ pursuits, I just remember that this year, I have forgotten my hungry ghosts. How can I forget hungry ghosts lah? I am going to make a video on hungry ghost festival next. After I finished my ex-ISA interview with LGE, THC, how the public is dealing with No Plastic Bag Monday and that ‘never ending Kampung Buah Pala saga’.

Peoples, watch out for hungry ghosts, ok? Don’t simply go into jungles, seas, beaches and other neglected places if you can help it. And be respectful to those who died. Whether you believe in hungry ghost or not, it is always good to be mindful of your actions and words. Be nice to our ‘ho hniah tee’ (good brothers aka the ghosts).

Talking about that, the other night while I was waiting for the Kampung Buah Pala meeting to end around 11.30 pm, I was chatting with CM’s official photographer. It was dark on the 28th floor because the main lights were off. So, this guy was telling me about his relative who went to some hot water spring in Kedah and took photos at night. Then, he described to me what or rather who appeared in those photos. “Cukup, cukup, aku tak mau dengar tau….nanti aku tak berani turun pergi carpark, oi, dah gelap niiiii.” But he went on to describe the woman seen in the photo. Lucky, after the Kampung Buah Pala meeting was over, I quickly run along with a group of the villagers or else, if I go alone, die ler. What if the lift get jammed between 28th and 3rd floor and suddenly, from being alone, I am crushed inside with a bunch of angry ‘people’ who were there to find Koh Tsu Koon? LOL.

Today, I was supposed to join my Malaysiakini’s sifus for dinner. I got dressed, get ready to go out. Earlier in the afternoon, CM’s press sec told me that there isn’t much going on and she won’t be staying back.

But I decided at the last minute to just try popping by Komtar first to see how are things. When the guards saw me, they said, “Eh…petang tadi kata tak nak datang….pasai apa hang mai?”

I told them, “Tak boleh tahan lah…saya tengok Samy Vellu kat TV3.”

TV3 was featuring Samy Vellu going on and on about buying the land back for RM3.3M. That’s like the most misinformed, miscalculated, misguided piece of news. So, I cancelled my plans to have dinner (and bodek-king my ‘bosses’ LOL) and ber-CJ-ing in Komtar instead.

Soon, things happened as usual. I shall not repeat or report. I merely phoned my hubby, “Dear, you pack first, I think it is going to be a long night. Got shouting lah, this lah, that lah, biasalah…”

So, we hang around as usual. And finally, CM called the press in. His hair is still all shiny and not a strand out of place. Later, after the meeting, I gossip with some of the villagers and asked them, “Eh, CM got naik angin? Just now some of those people shouting shouting. Wuah, I sked….”

And they told me…”No…our CM is very nice….he very good, you know?”

Another told me, “We all no worries lah, CM sure takes care of us.”

I also dig from the guards, and they also told me, “CM cool..”

Now, I wonder what hair cream did CM use to get that cool head, huh?

(My video is being processed. You can see how shiny his hair is after 2 hours of heated dialogue.)

*waves to my blog reader who is the ‘big & friendly’ ‘friend’* Wah…I didn’t know I have bodyguards as my blog reader.

P/S : And I seriously think (and other members of the press agree with me) that someone is wayyyyy over rude with the rude people. He could easily get punch with that kind of attitude. No one approach a group of angry people with an angrier face and a tone of voice asking for trouble. CM needs better PR (public relation) representative, really.
